Reality Check

Hello friends!  It's been a REALLY long time since I've written anything.  A lot of factors entered into this but the most important factor was my work schedule.  It's been a crazy two years!

I did get a new job about 2 years ago with a great company.  Unfortunately, it has sucked the life out of me - literally.  I have never been more tired, less motivated and felt zero engagment with friend & family.  It's time for a change.

So about 3 weeks ago, I started the change.  And it hurts.  I started running.  I'm stretching here because I would never call what I do running - certainly not the sleek, long legged stride we see with real runners.  But it's a start.  I have been amazed at the difference in me already!  No, I haven't miraculously lost 30 pounds and fit in size 5 jeans.  But I do feel a "want" to go run.  I see my distance slowly increase and it excites me!

If you are looking to make a change in your life, let me be your encourager!  You can do this!  I am a fat girl without a horse, who works too much & sleeps too little.  If I can find 20 minutes a day to walk & run a mile, you can too.  God has been a big encourager in my life and was a major driver in finally starting this new journey for me and Him.  My body is my temple, formed in His imaje for His glory.

Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Go forth and make a change!

Happy farming Ya'll!

Life & times...

Life on the farm is pretty straightforward. Get up early, check cows, feed dogs, shower, go to work, come home, feed dogs, check cows, supper & bed. Repeat.

Sometimes that routine is interrupted & the farm isn't the ideallic place most people think of.

This weekend was one of those times. It's never a happy time when you lose a cow. They are like family. The herd grieves. It's made easier simply because you know that she didn't suffer. She wasn't in pain. And we did everything we could to help her.

Unfortunately, all of the experience & medical or veterinary knowledge in the world can't help her when she can't tell you what is wrong.

No words can express the sorrow.

I'm thankful for the support of the family as we all worked together to save her.

The life of a farmer.
